Al Jaber bids farewell
Saudi Arabia striker Sami Al Jaber has officially announced his retirement from international football following Friday's 1-0 defeat to Spain.
The Green Falcons were eliminated from Germany 2006 after finishing bottom of Group H with just a single point.
With the Saudis failing to reach the knockout stages, the Al Hilal striker announced an end to his long and distinguished international career after more than 160 appearances for the Middle Eastern Kingdom.
"This has been a great memory for me," said the former Wolves player.
"All four World Cups I have been at have been special, but I'm so pleased to sign off here (at the World Cup finals) with a goal (against Tunisia)."
Saudi goalkeeper Mohamed Al Deayea also announced his retirement after the game.
Saudi coach Marcos Paqueta was pleased his side gave Spain's second string a run for their money with their second-half display in Kaiserslautern.
"Spain played with their reserves, but they were greatly experienced players," said the Brazilian tactician.
"We fought very hard and made them hang on in the second half.
"We were much calmer and came up with a strategy to deal with them and in the last 20 minutes, we made some good chances.
"We are going to leave with a nice impression. For us, it was a nice experience for our team to test themselves against high-level opposition."

المدرب السعودي ماركوس باكيتا سعيد لأنه سبب ازعاج للمنتخب الأسباني في الشوط الثاني في مباراتهم في كلايزرسلاوتن.
